Principal's Welcome

It is with pleasure that we invite you to explore our Mullauna College website, and hope it allows you to gain an understanding of our school and community.

Mullauna is a co-educational, state secondary school located in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Mitcham, catering for students in Years 7 to 12. We are a growing, mid-sized college with an enrolment of approximately 550 students and 70 staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Our students are renowned for their friendliness and positive approach to their learning; this is reflected in the harmonious environment that students experience on our campus each day, and reinforced through our college values of Courage, Curiosity and Community.

Mullauna College has a long and proud history of academic excellence and of providing a stimulating, orderly and secure learning environment for our students. We are a vibrant learning community with a vision of continual improvement, as we all learn and strive to reach our potential. In this we exemplify the college motto of ‘Success through learning together’. Students are supported and encouraged to aspire to achieve their personal best in academic and co-curricular endeavours, and to be persistent and resilient learners who value curiosity and success in themselves and others.

Over their six years at Mullauna, students develop an understanding that their time at school is the start of their learning in life. From Year 7, students are equipped with knowledge and thinking skills that will carry them into their future pathways. Mullauna College provides students with any time, any place, any platform learning. We believe that it is essential that our students see themselves as global citizens who have a valuable contribution to make to their local community and wider society on many levels.

Mullauna is a learning community where students and teachers are actively engaged in ongoing learning. In the classroom, the focus is on creating a learning environment that is stimulating, rigorous and values excellence. This is then enriched beyond the classroom by a comprehensive range of co-curricular programs that provide students with the opportunity to achieve their personal best in whatever areas capture their interest and suits their learning style. Students are encouraged to participate in camps, sport, music, the performing arts, debating, the World Challenge expedition and the Presentation Ball, as well as pursue leadership opportunities through student governance and student-led activities, guided by our Student Representative Council (SRC). While the college focus is very much on academic excellence, the belief that happy, healthy, resilient students learn and achieve their best is a guiding philosophy. Mullauna’s students are supported in their intellectual, emotional, social and physical development by a highly professional group of teachers and education support staff.

At Mullauna we are very proud of our students, whom we see as the ambassadors of our college. We invite you to meet our students and staff on a tour of the college and we look forward to welcoming your family into our learning community.
