Year 7
In Year 7, all students have the same core subjects that they do across the full year, including English, Mathematics, German, Humanities, Music, Science, Health & Physical Education and Sport. All students also undertake practical subjects for half the year. These include Art, Materials Technology, Food Technology and Visual Communication. This gives each student the chance to ‘taste’ subjects that they may then choose from in the Years 8 – 9 elective program.
Throughout the year all students also take part in ‘Challenge’, a multi-disciplinary program that allows them to discover the contributions of famous ‘notables’ across time, explore the habitats and worlds of wildlife and experience ‘Master classes’ in a variety of areas.
Years 8 and 9
In Years 8 and 9, students undertake core subjects including English, Health & Physical Education, History and Geography, Mathematics, Science and Sport. In addition, all Year 9 students participate in Skillz, an interdisciplinary program, for 8 periods per cycle.
Students are then able to individualise their program by choosing electives across a range of areas, including the Arts, English, Health and Physical Education, Science and Technology.
