Well-being at Mullauna – Supporting Students to access and participate in their education

The Well-being team at Mullauna is committed to helping students engage in their education. As a well-being team we approach all students from a space of empathy and understanding, with our goal being to support students to achieve in all areas of their educational life.

We understand that for young people to experience success in their education their social, emotional and mental health needs to be supported. Our team works across all areas of well-being to meet the needs of students from whole school health promotion programs to individualised support. We work collaboratively to assess the whole school wellbeing needs as well as individual needs that young people present with on their journey through adolescence. Our team confidently works in the space of mental health, developmental difficulties and school based concerns. We work in partnerships with the young person, thier family and their school supports for best outcomes.

Accessing wellbeing support occurs via many pathways. Students are able to self refer directly to the wellbeing team, teachers make referrals for support when noticing changes and parents can also reach out for support from the team. Wellbeing support is a triage process to understand the needs of the young person and can include some support from the wellbeing team at school and/or support to access external services.
